About
This is a mashup of Google Calendar and Rhapsody. In other words, its a fancy Javascript Alarm Clock. It will read your Google Calendar for specially formatted calendar events, and when the time comes... it will fire up the Rhapsody player, and play the album that you specify.
How to add an alarm
- Cruise to your Google Calendar.
- Add an event at the time you want the music to start playing.
- "What" needs to be: rhapsody:<artist>/<album>. For example: rhapsody:thepostalservice/giveup
- duration doesn't matter, we only look at start time.
- You can edit the rest of the entry if you like. Including inviting others to listen to your alarm!
How to find your Google Calendar RSS Feed
- Cruise to your Google Calendar.
- Click on "Manage calendars"

- Click on your name. For example: Adam Phillabaum.

- Click on the XML icon, and copy the address it gives you.

Announcments and stuff
- Don't use this to remind you to wake up for a job interview... because it might not work.
- Funerals/weddings/etc would be a bad idea too. But, if you do use it for these, I recommend: "Let's Get it On"/"Another One Bites the Dust"
- The alarm only goes off IF THIS WEBPAGE IS OPEN. It seems obvious, but who knows...
- If you don't have a pay-for Rhapsody account, you only get 25 free plays (and 30s clips after that)
- You can email me (Adam) or Katie questions and comments.
- I didn't do this by myself. In fact Leo Dirac of Rhapsody did a huge chunk of it, and Katie Bishop put us in our place when we were being stupid. I just put the "finishing touches" on it.
- This mashup was born at Seattle Mind Camp 2.0
- Because I really have no idea what I'm doing, I can't put any sort of guarantee on security or anything like the. Please don't hack this site.
